First of all, welcome to my very first blog post in English. I’ve got so many request about blogging in English for quite a long time now, so I decided to give it a try. The fact is that I last year had as many portrait sessions abroad as I had in Finland.
With Rebekka and Steinar I had a maternity session in the national park Þingvellir in Iceland last summer. If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones you’ve probably seen some scenes filmed here. Þingvellir is designated a World Heritage Site by Unesco. The nature there is something really special with the endlessly long lava fields covered in moss, the mountains in the background and the crystal clear waterfalls. I can highly recommend you, if you ever get the opportunity, to take a walk between the two continents. It’s such a cool experience!
Because of our very tight schedule and the strong wind that made our eyes tear up we had a really short session, but that was enough to get a gallery full of intimate and beautiful portraits of this special time in their lives. Rebekka and Steinar were so warm and lovely. I love how calm but powerful Rebekka is in her individual portraits. It was a pleasure to photograph them and I’m happy to share a glimpse from their gallery with you.
